1.S981 - Topology Optimization is an advanced course on free-form topology design of structures using formal optimization methods and mathematical programs. Introduces the basis of topology optimization algorithms and their applications. Strong emphasis is placed on topology optimization using finite element methods and design problems governed by solid and structural mechanics. Extensions to other and multiple physics are also introduced (e.g. fluids, heat transfer, optics).
